Rotary Club of Clayton: Bringing Smiles to Our Community with Community Dental
When the Rotary Club of Clayton saw a serious need for affordable dental care in Rabun County, they didn’t just talk about it—they made it happen. Through vision, leadership, and community collaboration, they launched Community Dental, a clinic providing much-needed dental services to low-income adults right here at home.
Filling a Critical Gap in Care
Access to dental care shouldn’t be a luxury—but for many, it is. Recognizing this challenge, the Rotary Club of Clayton took action. With the support of the Clayton Rotary Foundation, they opened Community Dental on April 14, 2020, creating a place where neighbors could get quality dental care without barriers. It’s service with a smile—literally!
Powered by Partnerships
Big dreams need big support—and that’s exactly what the Rotary Club received. Volunteers, healthcare professionals, and local organizations stepped up to help. Thanks to a generous $10,000 grant from the Lake Burton Civic Association and countless other contributions, Community Dental was equipped with the tools it needed to succeed. This clinic stands as a powerful example of what we can achieve when a community comes together.
Beyond Treatment: Educating and Empowering
Community Dental isn’t just about fixing problems—it’s about preventing them. The Rotary Club continues to support dental health education programs, teaching families how to maintain healthy smiles for life. It’s about creating long-term change, not just short-term solutions.
A True Reflection of “Service Above Self”
Community Dental shines as a perfect example of Rotary’s motto: “Service Above Self.” It’s more than a clinic—it’s hope, health, and heart for Rabun County. By identifying a real need and working tirelessly to meet it, the Rotary Club of Clayton has proven that small communities can make a huge impact.
