Rotary Club of Clayton Helps Launch New Hope for Women in Recovery
Big things are happening in Rabun County, and it all starts with community, compassion, and action. The Rotary Club of Clayton has teamed up with Freedom Ministries Lighthouse to help create a new women’s addiction recovery facility—bringing hope to those who need it most.
Meeting a Critical Need
Freedom Ministries Lighthouse has spent over six years helping men recover from addiction. But there was a big gap: no services or housing for women struggling with the same challenges. The team dreamed of expanding but didn’t have the funding to make it happen—until Rotary stepped in.
How Rotary Made It Possible
When Sheryl Webster, President of the Clayton Rotary Club, heard about the need, she knew Rotary could help. She made the women’s facility the focus of the club’s annual Casino Night fundraiser and launched a special “Fund the Need” campaign to raise money.
A Night to Remember
At Casino Night, Freedom Ministries shared their story—and the community responded in a huge way. Hands went up across the room during the fundraiser, and by the end of the night, more than $200,000 had been raised! It was an emotional, unforgettable moment that showed just how much heart Rabun County has.
What’s Next
Thanks to Rotary and the incredible generosity of the community, Freedom Ministries is getting ready to close on a property, start renovations, and open a new women’s facility by January 2026. This new center will offer women a safe, supportive place to heal, grow, and rebuild their lives.
The Rotary Club of Clayton continues to prove that when we work together, amazing things can happen. Thank you to everyone who made this dream possible!
Please keep Freedom Ministries Lighthouse and this new project in your prayers as they move forward with faith and hope!
